Significant space saving and clarity of optical cabling
Solution for
Case studiesDuring the visit of ISP Alliance a.s. representatives to DC2 TTC TELEPORT, they liked our IANOS products and were so interested that they decided to switch to the IANOS EDR system with high density and scalability. The reason for switching to our technology was the need to increase capacity and save space.
The existing 24-port 1U optical tubs were replaced with the IANOS 4U system with a total capacity of 288 ports, tripling the number of ports per 1U. This allowed them to start increasing the capacity of the network and to use the free space saved in the future to expand the existing system with DWDM.
And what other benefits can you find with this product?
The IANOS EDR chassis is designed to adapt to future generations. It is available in 1U or 4U versions – and is best in class whether for welding, pre-contected routes or direct interconnects. It also has excellent organisation and labelling of the cabling.
IANOS modules can be inserted from the front or rear of the chassis and both “single” and “double” modules can be inserted. Compared to other fiber panels, the IANOS chassis supports redundant wiring, i.e. it is designed so that the left and right sides are separated. This allows the operator to work on one branch during full operation without endangering the cables of the other branch. The unique design of the central divider, which divides the system into two halves, deliberately prevents the interconnecting cables from mixing as well. This principle of panel splitting separates redundant cable routes and significantly reduces the risk of possible failure.

For the record
The connection to the IANOS system started at midnight and took about 12 hours of net time. It took on average 5-10 minutes to connect the 6 ports, disconnecting them, getting information about the cable, where it is in the switch, where it leads to and then entering everything into an online excel spreadsheet. This information is important for further wiring, and this documentation easily replaces the paper form and its later transcriptions.
